With the completion of Quimbee’s web app overhaul, we needed the same design system principles applied to the mobile app, however, nothing had been documented or created in Figma (our design software of choice). This led to the creation of a separate mobile design system built from the ground up, along with documenting every screen at different resolutions.

With a much smaller development team working on the Quimbee app, we had limited bandwidth for the app overhaul, as our available developers also needed to develop new features and maintain the existing app. Through conversations with business stakeholders and the dev team, we compromised by matching the existing app user experience, while only updating the design - leaving UX improvements for a later date.
